Our Story
How did we
get here?
True North Anesthesia was originally founded under the name Nurse Anesthesia of Maine (NAMe) in 2003 by nine CRNAs who wanted to provide the community access to excellent full-service nurse anesthesia services. Initially, True North Anesthesia covered only Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Others recognized our commitment to uncompromising quality, and we began to expand rapidly to other locations in the region. We have grown to a group of over 40 anesthesia professionals covering 12 hospitals and clinics with routine services and another six locations with relief coverage. We provide these services while maintaining our core values of:

True North Anesthesia strongly encourages and supports involvement with our state (MeANA) and national (AANA) organizations. A number of us are state board members or have served or are serving on national committees.
